Springtime is A Great Time for Pickleball

The sport of pickleball has come a long way from its 1965 inception on Bainbridge Island, WA (near Seattle) to today, where there are over 11.000 places to play in the United States.  Currently there are over 8.9 million players in the U.S. over the age of six.  Pickleball combines the elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.  It is a fun, friendly and social activity that is easy for beginners to learn.  Participants use a paddle, plastic ball with holes and a modified tennis net to play either indoors or outdoors.

In South Burlington we have 6 courts ready for play.  4 are at Szymanski Park and another 2 are located on the tennis courts at SBHS.  In partnership with instructor and PPR Certified Coach Chris Tudor, we are offering several clinics this spring.  These two-hour clinics will be offered at the beginner, low intermediate, and intermediate levels.  Please visit our catalog for more information and to register.
