Used Book Sale - October 13th & 14th!

The Friends of the South Burlington Public Library group is 50 years old.  Since 1973, this quiet adjunct to the Library has been at work behind the scenes, actively supporting the staff, programs, events, and mission of the Library.

Over the years, as the Library moved, the Friends raised funds through book sales, ice cream socials, cookie walks and more to support children’s programs, audio books, the winter concert series and special donations to the Aspire campaign.  Their support continues, grows and changes with the library’s needs.

In the beautiful new Library, the permanent location of the Friends Book Shop is on the second floor of the Library.   It is staffed from 10:30-12:30 but browsers may pay for books at the circulation desk at any other time.

For 50 years the Friends have been holding used book sales as major fundraisers. True to that tradition, there will be a Fall Book Sale in the Community Room on the second floor of the Library, 180 Market Street,  Friday, October 13th from 2-5pm and Saturday, October 14th from 10am to 2pm.  Members of the Friends may attend the preview night on Thursday, November 12 from 5-7pm. [Become a member at the door for the low individual annual donation of $10.] There will be a sale only reduction in the already low prices. Extras include a raffle with donations from Trader Joe’s and Snowflake Chocolates, special bookbags and unique notecards.
