Per the Department of Motor Vehicles, as of November 1, 2023, registration stickers will no longer be issued. This includes the month/year stickers applied to license plates and the month/year stickers applied to boat and snowmobile registration decals.
As a service to the community, the South Burlington City Clerks Office has traditionally provided temporary registration renewals inclusive of the orange “R” sticker. The change in the DMV process eliminates the need for this service convenience. As of November 1, 2023 the Clerks Office will no longer be supporting any of the registration renewal process.
Registration renewal process can now occur in one of three ways.
1) Through the mail
2) Through the DMV on-line portal: Registration, Renew | Department of Motor Vehicles (vermont.gov)
3) Through the kiosk at the DMV located at 4 Market Street
If you would like to use the on-line option but don’t have the technical capability at home, you can access free computer and WiFi services at the Public Library as needed.
