ELECTION CYCLE 2024
As other areas of the country have been running elections, many people are wondering…when do we vote? Here is a quick guide for the upcoming voting schedule for Vermont in 2024.
March 5th, 2024
- Presidential Primary Election- Voters need to request a ballot by party. This is the only election in Vermont where voters need to publicly choose a party to vote for. There is a supplemental handout available at the Clerk's office with more information on process and statute.
- Town Meeting Elections of local officials and City and School Budgets
August 13th, 2024
State Primary: Ballots will be available 45 days before the election. This is the only election where all party ballots are given to voters. Voters privately choose one party ballot to vote, and they must return all the ballots, one voted and the other unvoted.
November 5th, 2024:
General Election- Ballots will be available 45 days before the election. This is the only election in Vermont where ballots are mailed to all active registered voters by the Secretary of State’s office.
Voters may start requesting absentee/early ballots for all 2024 elections on January 1, 2024, online at My Voter Page or by phone at 802-846-4105
