Peter Harrigan's Barbie Collection
Please take a moment to stop in the library’s Marabella KidSpace to see a small cross-section of Peter Harrigan’s Barbie collection in our display case. Peter is a theater professor at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester. Over the past 30 years, he has collected over 600 Barbie dolls! He creates intricate dioramas displaying the dolls in a variety of settings, including some Ken-only spaces. He keeps perfectly organized shelves of shoes, jewelry, clothing, furniture, and miniature items that he has collected over the years from many sources. Peter’s husband, Stan Baker, a psychotherapist, collects Ken dolls, and the two have attended a variety of Barbie conventions together over the years.
Harrigan has shared a collection of diverse, differently-abled and celebrity Barbies at the SBPL.
